The Tale of
Smoky Mtn Benji
$9,500
Meet Benji, a black boy from our Camo and Joyce litter, and Wilson’s brother.
Benji has two speeds: full tilt and sound asleep. He’s the first to grab a toy and the first to start a game of keep-away, and he keeps it going long after his littermates have called it quits. Everything is a game to him, and there’s a sweet streak under all that energy.
That energy comes from somewhere.
Benji’s Grandsire from a Working Line
It runs straight down his sire’s line.
Benji’s grandsire, Seger, is a Gold Grand Champion and a multiple Best in Specialty Show winner. He also holds a Working Certificate, proof he can do the work in the field, not just win in the ring.
Seger passed that line to his son Camo, Benji’s sire and our most recent AKC Champion. That’s the drive Benji inherited. Right now he spends it on play. Give him a job and he’ll spend it there too.
A Gentle Mom and the Moose Legacy
His dam, Joyce, balances it out. She’s a gentle, easygoing daughter of our boy Smoky Mtn. Moose, a Silver Grand Champion who was ranked the #3 Labrador in the country in 2023, with back-to-back Westminster invitations. Joyce is where Benji gets his sweet side.
The Best of Both Sides
Benji is made for an active home: the morning hike, the afternoon retrieve, the kids in the backyard. When the day’s done, he’ll be right next to you on the couch.
He's exactly what you hope for when you put lines like these together.
Benji is finishing up his Level 1 Crate Training now and will be ready to go home next week!
