The Story of
Smoky Mtn Wilson
$9,500
Say the name Wilson, and most people picture a certain volleyball from Cast Away, the faithful companion Tom Hanks's character couldn't bear to lose. Our Wilson would appreciate a good ball, and he's every bit as loyal a friend.
But there's another side to him, too. Wilson has a good head on his shoulders. He figures things out quickly, and once he's had a good run, he's perfectly happy to settle in on the porch right next to you.
None of that is an accident.
A Champion Dad from a Working Line
Wilson's dad is Camo (Twin Rivers Smoky Mtn Can You See My Moves), our latest AKC Champion.
Camo is a son of Seger (MBISS GCHG CH Barton Creek's Night Moves WC), one of the better-known yellow Labs in the show ring. Seger is a Gold Grand Champion and a multiple Best in Specialty Show winner. He also holds a Working Certificate, which means he has proven himself in the field as well as the ring.
That's where Wilson's quick mind comes from: a line of dogs bred not just to look the part, but to do the work.
A Sweet Mom and the Moose Legacy
Wilson's mom, Joyce, is a sweet, easygoing girl who's happiest when she's close to her people. She's also a Moose daughter, which puts Moose right in the middle of Wilson's pedigree.
Moose earned his AKC Grand Championship at just two years old and went on to become a Silver Grand Champion. In 2023 he was ranked the #3 Labrador in the country, and he received back-to-back invitations to Westminster. His own sire, GCHG Epoch's Moccasin Joe, is a Westminster champion too.
The titles aren't really the point, though. What Moose passes on is a steady temperament. His pups pay attention to their people, and they know how to settle down.
The Best of Both Sides
Wilson has that steady Moose temperament, with a little more get-up-and-go from Camo's side. He'll want a walk, a game of fetch, or a swim most days, and he'll be a better dog for it.
So when Wilson works something out on the first try, that's a line of dogs bred to work. When he settles in on the porch after a morning of play, that's Moose.
He's exactly what you hope for when you put lines like these together.
Wilson is finished with his Level 1 Crate Training and is ready to go home this week!
